Who is on Your Throne?

It all began shortly after I got married. I slowly started removing the Lord from His rightful place and replacing him with my husband. I started to worry about my husband all the time. I was always living in fear that something bad was going to happen to him.

A few months later, we found out that we were going to have a baby. I spent the next nine months worrying about every little thing. “why isn’t she kicking as much today?” “it usually doesn’t take this long to find her heartbeat.”

Then she was born….. and I thought that I was living in fear before? HA! Now it’s constant fear.

She was on my throne now.

It didn’t take me long to realize that my priorities were messed up. I felt so distracted and worried all the time. So, I started to listening to different podcast episodes designed just for Christian mamas and buying every Christian motherhood book I could get my hands on to help me. Though I did find some amazing resources, I still felt the same.

Then I read Jeremiah 29:11-14. The verse that most people recognize is vs. 11. But, vs. 13-14 are the ones that really hit me.

13. If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me. 14. I will be found by you,” says the Lord…..

I was looking everywhere except the One place I needed to look.

→to HIM←

His Word says that if we look for Him wholeheartedlty, He will be found by us. Don’t overlook this:

It doesn’t say that God will find us if we look for Him, it says that WE will find God if we look for Him. He never left. We did.

He was always there.

Even when we remove Him from the Throne of our hearts, He doesn’t leave us. Oh, how gracious and wonderful our Holy God is.

No matter what you have put on your throne, (it may be your husband, kids, a hobby, social media, or a job) you can put God back where He is suppose to be. He’s just waiting on you to seek Him with all of your heart. Cry out to Him, get in His Word.

He is there.
